southern Colombia, the second in the north. Both regions are inhabited mostly by Afro-descendant communities that through processes of territorial resistance, face state abandonment, inequality, structural violence and dispossession processes that miners, drug traffickers, private entrepreneurs advance in search of the mineral and geographic wealth of these zones. The communities in the territories daily coexist with the incidence of these projects and at the same time with the misinformation about their advances and their real social implications.
From this model of development, the Archimedes Society, made up of mostly Antioqueño businessmen, has been promoting a project for the creation of a seaport in the Gulf of Tribugá north of Nuquí for more than 10 years. A multipurpose port that is presented in two levels: The first as a tourist port, to increase the demand of international and national tourism with the construction of infrastructure that can supply this need and that responds to the levels of massive tourist service; the second as a port of merchandise, which aims to move 250,000 tons of goods per year, in turn said port will contribute to the development of industrial fishing in the area.
The conception of a maritime development project like this, brings with it a change in all the social structures of the community and with them, a new guideline in local politics and in the life of its inhabitants. The intention to modify the landscape and the economic north of the territory has generated all kinds of feelings and above all many questions in the inhabitants and the organizations that are present in it.
Postales del Futuro is a project that from the documentary cinema promotes and shares the reflections, visions and sentiments that arise from two territories crossed by the notion of port. Buenaventura, a city with a port. Nuquí, a municipality with a project to build a port. I
n its first phase,the project was a meeting to share the visions that arise from these two territories to work on ideas such as: development, good living, autonomous management of the territory, conservation of biodiversity and maintenance of cultural traditions, understanding how they are affected by the construction of a megaproject as a seaport.
In its second phase, Postales del futuro, through a residency of documentary creation in charge of the technical and academic team of More Art More Action, Ambulante más allá and Tierra Digna, and the advice of local leaders and the approach to their communities; the communication groups En Puja (Nuquí) and Puerto Creativo (Buenaventura), engaged in a dialogue on the important topics currently in their territories. Issues such as development, governance, good living, autonomous management of the territory, conservation of biodiversity and maintenance of cultural traditions; they were established as the conceptual axis of their learning exercise, resulting in two short documentaries that portray the current position of communities.
