For second year Más Arte Más Acción in alliance with FICCI – Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena, create an articulation between Artists, directors, movie makers and special guests to circulate around the country to work in conferences, talks, master class and the opportunity to make part of our residence program, offering to one of them a critical thinking platform on our special program “Espacio para pensar“ in Chocó.
This year, the program had the participation of the Irani photographer Newsha Tavakolia, who presented in cartagena a serie of photographies called “Women Fighters“. A project where Newsha capture the shades of the women guerilla of the FARC – Revolutionary armed forces of Colombia while they are preparing to leave the jungle and get back to society
While her visit, the photographer went to the Centro de Memoria Paz y reconciliación and in the day of the remembrance of the international women’s day participated in the talk “Finding Mirrors: diverse Women, representation and struggle“. An encounter where ex-fighters guerrilla and victims women of the armed conflict ask and reflect about the different realities to encourage the mutual recognition and explores the reconciliation potential of the photography representation.
Finally, Tavakolia visited the Base Chocó. To close here residence in colombia as an space of reflection and projection of her experience in Colombia.
